Back home for Chinese New Year – Sabah

Back home for Chinese New Year; this time Esther is not around to join the fun we had. However, the good news is, Mel is with us for the first time to celebration CNY.

We drove all the way from Tawau to Tuaran, where mom’s mother kampung is. The journey takes about 9 hours with multiple stops. Tuaran is famous for its fried noodle (Tuaran Mee),  and you have to try it out once you have the chance. Other than that, there’s Sunday Tamu (market) and “Long Shan Miau” pagoda, a must visit for visitors who are not from Sabah.

On the 3rd day of CNY, we decided to go to the beach to chill out. By then when we arrived, the sun is already high above us (we woke up late). Harsh light and harsh shadows, not sure how to deal with it, and we still go ahead to take some family portraits.

Later on we decided to come back in the late afternoon to enjoy the sunset.

Location: Dalit Beach, Tuaran.

Photo 1 & 2: Taken in the morning when the sun is high above us. Weather is extremely hot and I am sure no one can stand bare footed on the sand.
